Walking along the boundary of Kingfisher Creek on Links Drive this morning, I was amazed to see how this stunning Candlewood had grown from its pruning and all the ongoing alien clearing around it 😁
Pterocelastrus tricuspidatus (Candlewood) can grow to 8m and will be flowering in July.
This tree is very easily recognisable by the cracking sound its leaves make when broken.
The creamy-white flowers are small and fragrant. They give way to conspicuous bright orange three-lobed fruit which are strikingly stunning.
So, next time you walk past it, remember to LOVE Steenbok because these trees certainly LOVE their new space 😉
