Reptiles

Reptiles are air-breathing vertebrates covered in a special skin made up of scales, bony plates, or a combination of both. They regularly shed the outer layer of their skin. The common reptiles found in Steenbok include chameleons, snakes, lizards, geckos and the occasional tortoise. All reptiles are cold-blooded, and do not have the ability to regulate their body temperature internally. Their metabolism depends on the temperature of the environment to warm or cool their bodies.
