Birds

The birds featured here are those that live, nest and have their territories on Leisure Isle, such as the Cape Robin-Chat. Also listed are those birds who visit Leisure Isle from surrounding areas, such as Black-bellied Starlings.

The migratory waders and other waterbirds visit the mudflats off Leisure Isle at low tide, when food is available, but do not roost here. Birds that fly over and can be seen from the Island, such as the African Fish Eagle, are also included.
