Mammals

There are more than 6,495 species of mammals, with more than half of these being rodents. All mammals are warm-blooded, air-breathing vertebrates (animals with backbones) with internal skeletons made of bone. They are among the most intelligent of all living creatures. Mammals are distinguished from other vertebrate animals by several unique features. They have hair on their bodies, and all female mammals have glands that can produce milk to feed their offspring.
Mammals include a wide variety of animals, from dogs to humans to seals.

  • Arctocephalus Pusillus (brown fur seal)

  • Otomys irroratus (Vlei rat)
