At the beginning of April, Steenbok Nature Reserve received a kind donation of R2500 from WESSA (the Wildlife and Environment Society of South Africa). The money will be used for the maintenance and development of Steenbok Nature Reserve. This donation will also assist in our objective of saving Steenbok as a special area of nature in Knysna and in our quest to be recognized by SANParks, Knysna Municipality and others as a formally protected environmental area. The public support by WESSA of Steenbok is most important to us.
WESSA is a South African environmental organization which aims to initiate and support high impact environmental and conservation projects to promote participation in caring for the Earth. For over 90 years WESSA has proactively engaged with the challenges and opportunities presented by our country’s unique natural heritage and the social and economic systems that depend on it.
