Knysna Rocks is a fun project that started after the horrible Knysna fires in 2017. People paint rocks with feel-good, happy words or pictures. These rocks are then placed like treasure around and about spreading a little joy and love. There are always some tucked away in Steenbok Nature Reserve!
When you find a rock you like, take it home or re-hide it for someone else to find. GET OUT into the Reserve! Go search for the rocks like a pirate looking for gold dubloons! A groovy treasure hunt – and as we all know… KNYSNA ROCKS!

– a type of plant; the name comes from the Greek word ‘helios’ meaning sun and the Greek word ‘chrysos’ meaning gold.
Speaking of finding treasure in Steenbok, look out for the flowers of the Helichrysum cymosum.
Spotting these golden treasures along the Tow Path should bring a smile to your face.
