STORM ALERT – GARDEN ROUTE AREA
Strong interior winds are expected over the Garden Route municipalities in the Western Cape on Tuesday (09/06/2020).
An intense cold front with an associated upper air trough is expected over the western parts of the Northern and Western Cape from Wednesday (10/06/2020) morning until Thursday evening (11/06/2020).
High seas with waves heights in excess of 6m touching 7m is expected between Cape Columbine and Cape Agulhas on Wednesday (10/06/2020) morning, spreading to Plettenberg Bay overnight into Thursday (11/06/2020), subsiding by Thursday afternoon.
PLEASE BE ADVISED:
Please avoid walking under tall trees during heavy storms.
Please avoid the large Milkwood near the Harbor Entrance to Steenbok. There are a couple of fallen branches that have not been removed yet. We are in the process of dealing with this situation with the assistance of Western Cape Forestry Dept.
