Tree Number: 521Found naturally in coastal thicket of Eastern Cape and KwaZulu Natal. Masses of pinkish-mauve pompon-like flowerheads grace this tree in flowering season lasting up to two weeks. The fruit is a very small reddish-brown nutlet. Stripped bark can be plaited to make a strong rope. Wood is used as fuel.
