Helichrysum dasyanthum
This is a small, erect multi-stemmed spreading shrub. The thin stems are covered with fine, long greyish white hairs that extend to the leaves. Many flowers are arranged at the tip of the stem making it look like one large flower.
The name Helichrysum is derived from the Greek helios meaning sun, and chrysos meaning gold, referring to the bright yellow colour of the flower heads. Dasyanthum, in turns means “hairy flower” from the Greek daisies meaning ‘hairy’, and anthos meaning ‘flower’.
