Large, with long powerful bill. Body yellow, wings olive brown edged greenish yellow, orange brown wash over face. In breeding male, eyes white. Female eyes brown, olive body above with buffy olive wash below. Nests in colonies. Kidney-shaped nest is hung from tree branches. Male builds nest and female, after accepting, adds lining. Complete moult of body plumage after breeding. Bathes frequently.
